Widespread Panic its a band right? http://www.widespreadpanic.com
your poster doesnt say price or ages or location of the gig ok wait united palace is the place of event right?
also there is a troly train that would say san francisco wouldn't it?
not NY also I think the bottom font for NYC should have been more like the curly font you used through out the poster
the bottom faces im having a hard time knowing what they are
and the center thing thats brown not sure what that is... a bridge?
sorry I totally get into gig posters =)
good colors nice poster =)

Thanks for the crit, kitty! :) I'll explain, the info on the poster is the info they wanted to be seen. It's actually a subway train but redesigned to reflect the theater. The NYC is refering to the way NYC is written on manhole covers and places like that. The faces are refering to gargoyles and the happy and sad theater masks. The bridge is the Brooklyn Bridge. I took the photo myself! :)

Yes it is for the band Widespread Panic.

Glad you like the poster overall. :)

Definitely enjoy the stylistic and color choices here (well, I am a little iffy on the coral-orange), and the imagery was instantly recognizable to me. I love ornamental detailing, so the central forms, which are nicely elaborated and composited, draw my eye. Get the nouveau look for the type, of course, but I'm not sure if using 2 different, super ornate typefaces works. I personally prefer the font used for the date, though the other works; they just seem a little competitive when paired up.
As I said, I like the central arrangement, but I almost feel there are too many icons jammed in here. Don't know what the band wanted, though I think you could have achieved a similar detailed effect without using quite so many signifiers of the city.

Pretty cool design. I like the colors, but I think it's a bit too ornate; makes the text/information hard to see and read.

Hey there,
I see that you are very talented at Illustrator. That being said, I was wondering if you had any pointers for me. I'm pretty familiar with vectors now but, I am drawing a blank on how to deal with this logo. My friend needs me to vectorize it so I can blow it up... so he can get it tattooed on his shoulder. Here's the picture:

Do you have any pointers for me? Remember, I just want to vectorize it, line for line, so I can blow it up.
Thanks,
Austin O'Neal!
